IEEE IAS Student Branch RSET is a non-profit volunteer based organization which fosters technological innovation and excellence for the betterment of the society. We positively try to provide an environment where engineers can meet the people from Industrial world and collaborate and change the word of technology and innovation in leading fields. We encourage exchange of information with the foremost industrial experts through personal participation.
To strengthen and enlighten young engineers and to keep them well inform about the technological and industrial advancements in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
IEEE is world’s largest professional association devoted for the technological advancement for the benefit of humanity. IEEE through publications, conferences, professional and educational activities has instilled inspiration to whole global community.
To be a world leader in the advancement of technology and dissemination of technical information, to support professionals engaged in the applications of electrical and electronic engineering to industry.
The scope of the IAS, as a transnational organization, is the advancement of the theory and practice of EEE in the development, design, manufacture and application of electrical systems, apparatus, devices and controls to the processes and equipment of industry and commerce.
The inauguration of IEEE IAS RSET Student Branch held along with the Eluxtra (Asoociation of Dept.EEE) annual meet. The official website and the 1st project Lumiere were launched. And an introductary class on robotics was also there.
The IEEE Industry Applications Society RSET SB, is proud to present its first event, after the creation of this chapter. It is an initiative aimed to help both students, and engineers, understand the importance of energy, and to help conserve electricity.
The IEEE Industry Applications Society RSET SB, is proud to present its first event, after the creation of this chapter. It is an initiative aimed to help both students, and engineers, understand the importance of energy, and to help conserve electricity. This 3-day event shall be held from 18th – 20th, in RSET, Kakkanad. Highlights of the event shall include an Awareness Program conducted by KSEB; a collage competition, and a one-day visit. The actual program shall take 2 months to complete, and will include a survey, where 15 students shall be asked to volunteer. And the end of 2 months, an analysis will be conducted to check, who among them have conserved the most electricity. An award shall be given to the best conserver. As a prerequisite, a small test, with 3 volunteers was conducted on May 23rd, as a part of environments day celebrations, and we are proud to announce that the project was an immediate success, after analysing the results. Lumiere 2016 is a much awaited project, and aims to create a great impact in society regarding the energy conservation concepts and promotion in installing energy efficient equipment.

IEEE appeared from the union of two engineering societies in the early sixties, the IRE and the AIEE. The IEEE is a society for Electrical and Computer Engineers, but that also welcomes Computer Scientists and Physicists. IEEE is what is known as a technical professional society. Every engineering branch has a technical professional society, Civil Engineering has ASCE, Mechanical Engineering has ASME. What distinguishes IEEE from this other societies is that IEEE is international. There are IEEE chapters in every continent, and in almost every country, and in those countries where IEEE is not established it has links with the local engineering societies, such is the case with IKE in the UK and Northern Ireland. This makes IEEE the largest engineering society in the world.
